This being human is not definite, it is a spectrum. We are constantly fluid and moving—we are not all or nothing.
Could we trust in the crumbling?
Could we recognize that if anything is divine, everything is?
Could we witness all of ourselves, and in that awareness choose to stick around, rather than shove away?
Whatever you are, allow yourself to be it, allow yourself a means of shifting it, of expressing it for all it is. There is a message for us in every emotion, if we seek it.
What better way to start the day than feeling brand new, clear and ready to take on what lies ahead?
Here are 2 morning routines that I love, which help you do just that.
She waits for the perfect breeze to blow that flawless direction,
She bends into the flow—into the new path of life, and she lets them go.
She doesn’t try to stop them, beg them to stay;
She doesn’t resist. She drops them.
From the ground on which they fall she will rise again in full bloom.
It is so much worse in your head. The stories we build around what we need to do (how much it will suck, how awkward it could be, etc) are so dramatic and epic, and they only get scarier as time goes by—but when we choose to dive in and just do what we need to do, we come out the other side wondering why the heck we didn’t do them earlier.
We will always fear the unknown, and that is exactly what lies beyond the limits we define for ourselves. We may not be able to eliminate this fear, it is, after all a long-standing part of our human nature, but we can change how we handle it; we can recognize it for what it is: ours.
